On 25 Febr my son needed medicine for an absess. I phoned PharmaValue and got a qoute from them. Because Dischem is only 1km from my house I decided to get a qoute from them aswell. I phoned the Hillcrest, Lynnwood Road branch and asked to speak to the pharmacist. I was put through to a lady that did not give her name. I asked for the qoute and she said that it would be R336 but if I take the genreric meds it would only be R123 I asked her if she were sure that it is the same as the orignal and she confirmed. Money is tight so I decided to take the generic. I went to the pharmacy. When I gave the precription to the pharmacist and said that I would like the generic he told me that there were not generic meds for Flagyl. When I told him that the pharmacist who ansered the phone said there is a generic, he said it was not a pharmacist that answered the phone, only an assistant. I was put under the impression that she is a pharmacist because she gave the qoute and generic advice without hesitation. I therefor did not have enough money to buy all the meds. I went to Dischem because of the qoute on the generic meds? Is this what I must/can expect from Dischem and/or their staff in future?
