Defective 1 month old Samsung 46" FHD LED TV
On 12 January 2013 we bought a Samsung FHD TV from Makro. On 14 February 2013 a black line appeared vertically across the screen. The tv was taken to Makro on 16 February 2013.Despite the fact that the tv was merely a month old, we were told that it is Makro store policy that they only refund or replace defective goods if returned within 14 days.We were told the tv had to be repaired in 3 -6 weeks! - not in line with the consumer replace repair refund options as per the CPA.We were called and told that the tv was repaired and ready. We collected the Tv on 2 March 2013. The tv was shockingly badly wrapped and we were asked to sign a form before accepting the tv which states that the tv is in the same/better physical condition than when it was booked in -this without being able to inspect or test the tv! We refused to sign the document and wanted to know what was wrong with the tv. We were rudely told that Makro does not issue repair reports. We arrived home and the black line was still there. We phoned and were told to return the tv for a 2nd time! Makro has a dont care attitude-bad service! Samsung TV's are prone to black lines- Google searches & entries on Hello Peter confirms this
