I recently bought a pair of shoes at /- R1100.00 from San Marino at the Waterfront Cape Town. Upon browsing the displayed shoes, I came upon a pair I liked and tried my size from the pair that were on display. Both fitted well and were in good condition. Upon my decision to purchase, another staff member on the floor shouted out an instruction in Xhosa or some other ethnic language, wherupon the sales staff member assisting me wehn to an o ver head cupborad and selected another pair. When I queried this she said it was a better pair and showed me the contents of the box briefly adn then removed the shoes from the box and handed them to me in a bag. I thought no more of it and returned home with my purchase. I threw away the bag with my slip. A few days later, whe n I decided toi wear my new shoes, I discovered the right shoe has clear defects. I can only beleive that the instruction givine by the staff member on the floor was to tell teh assistant dealing with me to get the defectoive ones, hence removing them from the box... no box no return... I warn everyone to not buy from San Marino, or check their purchase carefully. I feel cheated seein the shoes cost R1100.
