Settled account now has a balance!

I want to state clearly that I am not the account holder but the person who paid the account - The account holder was my husband's ex-wife - The goods concerned was with my husband.
We paid by EFT only to find out the Bank account the money was going into was a personal bank account.
Eventually I was told by Rebecca that she has not "reconciled" her bank account for a while and I need to send her all my proof of payments - Which I did and they all came through on the account. I waited for the new Statement with the correct balances and then went to settle the account. For over a year we had a NIL Statement and then no statement at all. Now suddenly there is a balance on the account. Went to the Klipfontein Branch where the Credit lady said she knew about that incident and will ask to fix the balances as we are NOT going to pay a single cent on the account for the activity of their staff. The Rebecca who used her personal Bank account does not work at that particular branch but at the other branch downtown in Witbank.
Still we got a Statement with a balance in the post today
