I have had a credit card account from 2007 with Absa. Paid it off in Feb 2010 and over paid some R8.86 at no interest payable to me. Received the statement regardless of the fact that i have not been transacting on this account which is okay, however i currently realised i am being charged bank charged of R15 per month and interest at 17% p/a. so basically they have taken my due to me-balance of R8.86 and charged me more and now there is interest on their "balance". I mean what happens when 5 years pass by and nothing is going on in an account, banks close the account. Its normal for banks to close the account. so why are they creating a balance and now accruing interest? No one has ever called me to find out if i am still interested in this account or not. I don't ever want to deal with an unprofessional bank as this and i want the credit card closed and this balance restated to my R8.86 over payment.
