I purchased a salad serving set for friends at a significant cost I might add. I should have known by the service I received in store that I should not have continued with the purchase. i was made to feel like I was a nuisance. Before passing the gift along I checked whether any user instructions came with the set, none were found in the box. A few weeks later my friends informed me that the set was tarnished. I returned to the shop to inform them and was informed that it was not their problem. I was also only informed then that the salesperson should have informed me that one could not use this salad servers with tomatos or lemon juice. These are basic ingredients in many salads so would have been handy information to have in order to make an informed decision around this purchase. I left the servers there and was told the owner would contact me. When she contacted me she informed me that she was unable to assist as the tarnishing was due to "customer abuse". When I informed her that her employees had failed to inform me of the limitations of the product she basically said there was nothing she could do and I should collect my spoons.
