At the end of the 2012 school year I queried where the list of text books were for my daughter who was going into grade 10. The text book list usually is handed out with the end of year school report.
I was informed that the headmaster was still to decide if the books would be text books or e-books for 2013.
I again queried the matter on the day before the scholars returned to school for the beginning of 2013. Again i was informed that a decision had not been made.
I informed the lady in charge of the school books that I was leaving the country for work for a period of about one month. I further informed her that this was unacceptable that the school could not have sorted this out prior to the school year commencing. I also requested that if the final decision was to go with text books that the school would have to assist in acquiring them as I would not be in country. She said that something would be worked out.
Today my daughter informed me that she has received the list for the text books - 2 weeks after school has started, and that we will have to go and locate the store and purchase them. I will pay for them but cannot go and collect them. This was explained to the school!!
