I purchased a Solo day bed – urban flint from Weylandts store in Sandton City 2 months ago. Having paid R12 590, the least expected is a good quality sofa. When the sofa was unpacked in my lounge I noticed the quality of material and the fitting of the material on the form. It was loosely fitting creating folds, which makes it look used. What I saw in the store and what I received were 2 different qualities. I contacted the sales assistant Lisa Nyoni who assisted me, I made her aware of my issues. The issue was logged with customer services. After following up on numerous occasions, Lisa was sent out to evaluate the sofa. It was agreed there is lots of extra material creating the folds etc. an agreement was reached that an exchange will take place. I drove out to Kramerville to view a sofa and if I liked it they would exchange it. Everything was agreed upon.
To my dismay I was later advised that customer services refuse to do the exchange, this was when I took the matter further to the Regional Manager Johann Gerber on the 29 November however I am still waiting for a response.
I then emailed the store manager Zania Hartman on the 14 December and the response I received was that the request has been declined. Reason is that the extra material effect is not a defect.
For anyone wanting to purchase from this company I suggest you think long and hard. After this experience I do not recommend this company. For the endless and lack of interest it is just not worth the while.
I have family that have purchased from Cori craft and their sofas are still in excellent condition, be mindful for the same price I paid.
Checking reviews on Weylandts I see I am not the only one complaining. Pity I did not see the complaints before purchasing from them.
