I received a Truworths gift voucher to the value of R300 from my son about three years ago. We were in the process of packing to move and it was put away for future use. I completely forgot about it until I found it recently in a box that was never opened since moving into our new place. When I tried to use it in the Menlyn store, I was told that is no longer valid. I then enquired from Truworth's Customer Care and was told thatiit is no longer valid and Truworths deems this as 'lost cash' and will not honour this. As far as I am concerned, this constitutes - it was not a gift or promotional grant from Truworths, but something that was paid for in cash - and I did not hear of cash of which the validity expired. How many of these vouchers are sold and not redeemed because it 'expired'? My advice would be - rather give cash in a envelope - at least Truworths cannot cheat you out of you gift
