Account opened without consent and shocking service

I went in to edgars in hemingways mall east london wanting to open an account. the account was approved and I returned the next day to conclude the process. I was then told that credit life protection is compulsory, which made me decline the account. I did not sign anything on either day and was assured the account would not be opened. I then received correspondence in the post that an account was opened and credit life protection was taken together with a funeral plan. I called the complaints line to explain what happened. I spoke to mpolokeni rafanyane and was given the reference of ZRM1604 on the 14th of january 2014. she made me hold and then came back to say the account is closed. she offered no apology for what had happened and had an attitude. I said I want to know how they can open an account like that and she said nothing and sat silently. I asked to speak to a manager and she made me hold then came back and said the manager said I must call the new accounts line not the complaints line. this is and poor service of the highest calibre. edgars should be ashamed of itself. I demand recourse for this!
