We went to @Home's store situated in Highveld mall at Witbank on 3 January 2014 to purchase a Dining room table. We decided on a specific table and proceeded to buy the table. When we approached the cashier, she wanted to know if we would like the table delivered. I asked her what the cost will be to which she responded R400. Witbank and Middelburg is only 25km apart, and i own a bakkie, so I said that I would rather collect it from the shop. The lady then informed me that their shop (it is a big shop) is only a display shop, and that I would then have to collect my table from Centurion which is 150km from us. When i then questioned her about the price being displayed, as not being the correct price as delivery HAS to be taken, she shrugged her shoulders and said it is the way it is. So we did not pay R6999 as displayed on the table, we HAD to pay R7399 or else we had to drive to Centurion. We really feel that this is false advertising. If @home feels Witbank clients are not important enough to at least deliver the purchased goods to the store we buy it from, please let us know, so we rather support local stores. Please note we will not do business with@home again.
