I went to @home, Melrose Arch, on my lunch break to buy a coffee table for my husband's birthday coming up this weekend. I was told they do not have stock. I had to either drive to Pretoria to collect it or be charged R400 for it to be delivered to the shop. The coffee table costs R2700. I have to add an extra R400 on R2700 to buy the table. This is false advertising. I have never been to a shop where the price advertised goes up! There are no notices stating this. I was informed that this is a showroom and if I want anything it has to be delivered at a cost of R400 standard or drive to Pretoria. I asked if any shop in the area had the coffee table in stock. Not one shop in JHB had stock. What is the point of walking into a shop to buy a coffee table and to be told there is no stock, and my options are drive to Pretoria or pay R400. To add to this I had bad service and attitude. Very disappointing. What is the point of shopping at @home. Not proudly South African at all.
