RIDICULOUS PURCHASE POLICIES

On the 9th Jan 2014, I made a purchase at Makro Cape gate. What I have noticed either at this branch or Montague Gardens, is that my till point transaction always takes a long time. They ask for my ID and, as if they cannot verify by my foto thats its me, they make a call to whomever and I am asked when last I made payment and how much I paid. The cashier then tells me they have to do verification for purchases over R1000 . So then, if my purchase was R999, they would not need to verify that I am the card holder >? This is utter nonsense and you should really look into your ridiculous policies - I dont have all day to stand and wait at a till point and quite frankly I feel like some kind of criminal being checked up on. I have never experienced something like this at any other store. This actually makes me want to settle my account with Makro and close it.
