7 days ago I purchased an evening gown from a Durban based store called ZITAZU the store is located in Ridge Road, Overport. The dress cost me R900.00. At the time of purchase the store manager advised me that I may bring back the dress within 7 days if I am not satisfied. I was given a receipt which is devoid of any store policy.
Today, on the seventh day, on inspection of the dress I noticed that some beads are missing, there is a tear near the bust area and the interior boning is protruding from the dress. I immediately took the dress back to the store and brought the defects to the notice of the manager, I then asked for a refund, which I know is within my consumer rights. I was told by the manager that they do not give refunds. The owner of the store arrived and rudely told me that I will not receive a refund under any circumstances. She went on to say that the best she can do is give me a credit note. I told her I would prefer a refund. She was screaming at me, called security to get me out of her store and went asfar as saying that I should put the dress in the bin if I didn't want it. I know it's within my rights to get a refund. Please advise
