I have been living out of South Africa for a year now and had paid off my Edgars account only to find that in June 2013 someone used my account to the value of nearly R6000. I only realised this when I got an email stating that if I do not pay the outstanding amount I will be blacklisted. This is a case of and most likely an inside job. Living overseas has made this matter even more difficult to handle. I have phoned the Edgars account department with the lady telling me she will mail me with an update, that was two weeks ago. I then phoned again and was directed the the & Dispute department. The dept. was very rude and the lady would not even tell me her name and I was left on hold. I then called the number for the Dispute department and spoke to a helpful man who said he would send me all the relevant information shortly. And now I still wait for that information. This is a very stressful situation, I feel like nobody cares that I have been a victim of and the people I speak to do not follow through with my complaint. Anybody who has an Edgars account with a zero balance should close their accounts immediately or risk being a victim like me.
