I went to purchase my 2 younger son's school uniforms today. I took 5 shirts for each child and wanted to confirm price. The sales lady, Mbali, was very helpful and went out of her way to get what I needed and scan the item to confirm the price. On her return she said the item (white school shirt size 13yr) was R39.99 but there was a price tag that had been scratched out showing the price R36.99. When I reached the till the store manager (who had no name badge and was not in uniform, but in her muslim attire) was at the tills and I enquired with her about the incorrect pricing. She went on to say that the price was R39.99 on the system and not the R36.99 they had tried to block out on the price tag. I went on to say that it was illegal to charge me a higher price when it was marked at a lower price on the item. The store manager on due then called another lady who was just as rude as she was and they refused to change the price and they believed it was ok to charge me more as they had tried to scratch the old price out. As a result I refused to buy the shirts and was going to cancel the whole sale of almost R900.00. I'm shocked at their blatant disregard for my rights!!!
