Given wrong info and dont want to except return

I bought a xpanda door in November. Before purchasing security gate I called the Ottery store to query about product and to find out what size they have. Was transferred the hardware department and spoke with and assistant who advises me that you have stock that there were only two left and he does not know when will they have stock. The next day i went in store and found my way to the security section. There was no assistant to help so i took the one that the consultant advised me on. we did not install the gate cause we are still building on site.when we wanted to install gate i was not the correct size and wanted to return product which ave not been open yet and was denied but the service consultant. I'm very upset that they did'nt wanted me to return product as I checked you guys still stock it now I'm stuck with a security door that I'm not going to use. I have compliant on your website but find this to be a more direct approach as I'm not getting any feed back. I always paid my account on time and enjoyed shopping at you stores. I surely hope i will get a positive responce from this complaint.
