INFURIATING MANAGER'S RESPONSE TO TAILOR'S MISTAKE

I bought a dress for a wedding&needed to have the straps shortened slightly. I asked whether the tailor @Stuttafords could have it ready the nxt day (I'd bn redirected from Cresta to Clearwater). The tailor said he cld have it ready but I'd have to pay R100 xtra as it was an urgent request. I fitted the dress&he pinned it up accordingly. The following evening I made it just on time before the tailor left to pick up the dress after work. When I got home&tried it on, the 1 side had bn altered perfectly, but the left side was taken up higher than we'd measured as I could not close the zip without it pinching me. I cld therefore not wear the dress&had to go buy another outfit for the wedding the following day. I took the dress back to Clearwater today (still with tag on). The manager accepted no responsibility&said it's between the tailor&me &I'd have to come back during the week when the tailor is there. He said the tailor wld have to refund me as Stuttafords outsources him&it's not their responsibility. I'm utterly shocked that a shop that makes so much money is unwilling to accept responsibility for mistakes by their own tailor&has such a don't-care attitude towards their customers!
