Kalahari falsely claiming to have refunded me

On 5 September before catching an international flight I ordered an on-line ebook on the Kalahari site. Kalahari was experiencing technical issues with the downloading of ebooks, and seeing that I wanted the book to read on the aeroplane, I requested a refund which was granted.

Despite explaining that I did not want a store credit, the amount was credited to my kalahari account. I was advised to request a cash refund on line which I did on 18 September. Despite a number of phone calls and emails the amount was never credited to my bank account.

Eventually on 11 October I received an email saying the refund had been approved and would reflect in my bank account within 3 - 5 days. Today is 21 October and I have not received my refund.

I was told by the accounts department to email my (confidential) credit card statement as proof that I have not received the refund. Reluctantly I did. (By the way the onus of proof is not on the customer in this case!)

Despite having the proof that they have not paid me they CLAIM to have done so and refuse to accept that they have not.

Cumulatively I have spent hours on this query and far more in telephone costs than the actual refund amount.
