Had to fight for my refund but got it in the end

Last week I bought a Salton toaster from Hirsch Meadowdale. It was the closest to what we wanted but it was cheap enough to be a stop gap. It had a loose rattling around inside it and it didn't in fact toast bread - it just kind of dried it out. So, On Saturday, six days later, I returned it and was given a replacement. That toasted bread, but it didn't stop until I pressed the stop button. After that it didn't work at all. I returned that one the same day and demanded a refund. Hirschs response was - we don't do refunds. I protested. I then got told that Hirschs don't do refunds in the branch and asked me to give them my bank account details so that head office could refund me in the wee (yeah - right!) I protested again. Finally and after the manager scoured the store for something more expensive to sell me (at cost), the manager phoned "Mrs Hirsch" and got permission to process a refund on my card there and then. So well done Hirschs for your caring and businesslike attitude. I am pleased that you have reduced the number of outllets for me to visit In future. Thanks to your response to my refund, I will shop at Game, then I wont have to fight for some consideration
