On Saturday 19 October 2013 I bought several food items from the Woolworths food at the Grey Owl centre near Midrand, on arriving home and unpacking I cut open the pack of 10 skinless chicken breasts to be greeted by a very strange smell. I took them back the next day, however just to compound my frustration I had also bought a 1kg lasagne which I warmed up for lunch, after the first very bitter bight I realised that this too was not right!!!
How is it possible that this can happen, the end result of these two products being off was that I had to throw everything away in my fridge as a preventative measure to avoid any possible cross contamination. I effectively wasted over R600.00 worth of food due to poor quality control on Woolworths side. What would have happened if my kids ate of the "off"/ contaminated food stuffs.
I am extremely unhappy in the way that Woolworths has put me and my family at unnecessary risks due to poor internal controls. Where was the CCP's. I would like to know what is going to be done to sort this problem out.
