Over the past week Woolworths has flighted adverts through various sources of media of their specials, namely the chicken pieces at R39.99 kg and save R20.00 when purchasing two packets of veg soup. On Wednesday 1 May 2013, my husband went into Woolworths Food Store Bulwer Rd Glenwood Dbn to buy the chicken special however there was no stock! There was another family also looking for the chicken special & after querying with the manager it was confirmed that the branch was out of stock! On Sat 4 May, I go into the same Woolworths Food Store to purchase the soup special & discover that there is only tomato soup available. When querying the stock situation of the soup with a Woolworths employee on the floor, I was told that I must understand that when there are specials, the stock does not last long. I find this totally unacceptable especially for Woolworths who pride themselves on good customer service. Furthermore, I do not have the same issue of "out of stock" items at any other Woolworths Food Store. If anything, I would expect Woolworths to source the stock for the customer instead of the customer having to drive at their inconvenience, time & expense to another Food Store.
