I signed up for a 6 month interest free account in-store. Was phoned the next day from head office and told I was accepted for the account and could fetch it from any store. I was not told anything about being declined for 6 months and that it would be on a 12 month account. I then went into the store the next day to receive my card where i found I had a 12 month account which I then stated I had not applied for this. They then phoned head office and argued on the phone for about 10 minutes about why had someone submitted a 12 month when I wanted 6 months. I had to then speak to the person on the phone from head office which then told me that I was declined for a 6 month and put on the 12 month, which I do not want. There is 21% interest on this from first purchase my credit card even gives me 55 days interest free why would I want this. I then asked why was I not told i had been declined for 6 months and he told me that I should of been told in store and that head office had known this, but I had been contacted by head office and not the store. If i was declined why did they argue on the phone for 10 minutes about why 12 months was submitted, I feel like I am being to.
