What happend to Guarantee

Good day if i am wrong i do apologise . i bought a cordless kettle (aim) 6 months ago and is no longer working and because they put the receipt number on the box i did not keep the receipt as i have worked in the retail industry before and i know its nothing to go on to the main computer with receipt number and pic up the whole transaction the Floor manager or supervisor said she would have to look for the receipt i should come back the next day i gave the a whole week when i walked in there to retrieve my new kettle i was told the could not replace it as the receipt was missing its not so much as the kettle that's the problem its the principle of the matter i have a suspicion she did not do her work as i said if i am wrong i apologise but why have a guarantee if you cant use it so i took my broken kettel and left
