Used the debit card payment system and my first attempt failed. With the second attempt my payment was successful, received an SMS notification from the bank telling me that the amount was paid to takealot for the order no. at the exact time. On their site however, the msg said 'awaiting payment'. I phoned takealot and spoke to an agent (Jamie), who told me that he will check the system and get back to me. i checked the order online again and got agn even more alarming msgs 'payment failed-retry'!! When Jamie returned he advised me to get proof of payment either via the SMS notification or bank statement. I phoned the bank, they dnt provide proof on debit card purchase when using the vendors pay site, the only option is to draw a provisional statement which they advise against, since it will contain all my personal information including account no. transaction details, deposits and balances. I phoned Jamie back and told him i'm not comfortable disclosing info and he said i could black out the info i dnt want them to see. I then sent an email with the bank SMS and the bank statement blurring my personal info. id/bank is rife. I'm uncomfortable/angry having this 'out there'.
