What is the point of your stock system?

On Saturday 28/09 my wife found a dress at Edgars Melrose Arch. The only size they had was two sizes too big for her. They checked their stock system and advised that Edgars in Cresta had two such dresses in the right size, and Fourways one.

The following day we headed for Cresta, half an hour's drive away. While on route we called ahead to ask that they keep one for us, only to be advised that the store does not stock that designer's range at all. We turned around and headed for Fourways, only to be advised in-store that the Fourways store also did not stock that particular designer's dresses.

So, due to fairly ridiculous inaccuracies in their system, Edgars wasted a grand total of two hours of my Sunday. I really fail to see what level of clientele they believe they have, who may have that amount of time to fritter away for no reason whatsoever.
