Took my twin girls to get theitr tetanus vaccinations done. After waiting for 40 minutes in a small room, nurse returns stating we have to pay as "she cant get it through". So we say that cant be the case as our vaccination benefit is quite explicit as part of our plan. In the meanwhile, my husbank phones bankmed and indeed confirms that this is fully covered by the medical aid. I also call and confirm the same. In the meanwhile, the nurse is nowhere to be seen and I am still waiting anxiously with my 2 girls in a room. I want to walk out, but the nurse has my medical aid card. Long story short, after 2 hours waiting, I'm told that I need to get a script for the required vaccionation in order to get it through the medical aid. This is utter BS as it's never been a prerequisite before and again as confirmed with my medical aid, a script is not required for a childs vaccination. My medical aid is perplexed as to how this nurse was not able to get it through. I start complaining about the 2 hour wait, and i am told its my fault if I am not on an adequate medical aid, and if i want it done that I should pay. Well, how pathetic. And how incompetent. Disgraceful. Thanks for wasting 2 hrs
