I'm a local DStv installer - Two weeks ago I received a jobsheet to do an installation - When I phoned the client, he told me that the installation had been done. I left it at that.
On Monday I received a call from JD that the client is waiting for his decoder to be activated. As installers, we're NOT responsible for ACTIVATION. After a lengthy call the client said the installation was never done (This being the guy that said it HAD been done)
Since I'm waiting for dishkits from my supplier, I couldn't help the client and explained that he'll be tended to A.S.A.P
Today I received a call from the manager of JD Paarl, asking about the installation. Again I explained the situation with our dish shortage and that I can have the job re-allocated to another installer.
She went ballistic and screamed at me - with the client there - calling me a and goodness knows what. I asked her name to lay a complaint and she said that she's the manager, she doesn't have to give me her name.
What kind of people are being employed at JD? It's never a good idea to take people in off the street. Specially NOT from PAARL
At least make sure they have BASIC PEOPLE SKILLS.
