Incorrect billing

I received a settlement offer on my account which I subsequently paid. Proof of payment was sent through and acknowledged. The discount was never written off by Edcon so lo and behold 6 months later my account is handed over to attorneys for collection, needless to say Im receiving sms telling me I will be blacklisted etc etc. I have been sent from pillar to post trying to get this resolved, Edcon refers me to the attorneys and vice versa. I sent through all the correspondence and proof of payment and was told it takes 21 days to resolve. Getting through to the call centre is a nightmare, you hold on for 20 minutes and then get cut off!
How difficult can it be to sort this out!!!
