I visited the King William's Town branch on 01 Sept 2013 and found a pair of takkies marked R39.00 on sale. Naturally, I went with it to the counter to pay and was told that it should have been R379.00 and i insisted on paying the price it was marked as the consumer's right. The 2 IC advised that he could not allow that and also that he could not authorise anything on the system whilst the manager was not on duty. I asked what he would do if they experienced any other pricing errors and he confirmed that he would ask the customer to come another day. I called the store 2 days later to speak to the manager who has liaised with her area manager and called me back to say that it would not be possible to give me that item at the R39.00 it was marked for since she suspects that perhaps another customer had changed the price tags!!! That is a ridiculous excuse! One could see that was the price sticker and that was quite secure on the box and had NOT been tampered with. I find this service pathetic and the reason inexusable!!! I SHOULD PAY THE PRICE THAT I SAW ON THE ITEM! I have the names of staff and the item number for further reference.
