On Monday 16 December we went to look for my wife's Christmas dress. After spending quite some time at Sutterfords we were glad to finally have found something. We were even more pleased when we noticed that the dress was marked down by 50%. When we went to the counter however we were forced to pay the full price. First the cashier claimed that the 50% off tag mistakenly stuck on the label. However when we questioned the truthfulness of this claim she then admitted that it was first marked down but now went back to "the old price".
I find this unacceptable and in retrospect I should have never paid the full price. According to the consumer protection act this is not allowed and the customer has the right to pay the stated price. Secondly once an item has been reduced to clear it should not go back to the old price, especially from 50%. This is just a rip off. No overseas retailer would do something like this after an item was marked down!!!
