Woolworths
Customer Protection Act infringement

My husband and I purchased items at woolworths on his debit card. One of the items was damaged and I went to woolworths to return. Due to the fact that I didn't have with me the debit card we used for the transaction, I can only get a voucher for the value of the item.

According to the CPA I have a right to return items purchased within seven days. So I said to the manager fine you give me the voucher now after giving me the voucher I am returning it for the cash value because according to CPA I should be able to do so. The manager told me that vouchers cannot be returned.

The card we used is a debit card which means we paid cash for the items now woolworths does not want to return my the cash because they have a policy that they will return the money using the same medium you used to purchase but are willing to give a cash voucher, which locks me into purchasing from them again?

I think this is an infringement of CPA.
