I have had a couple of bad experiences at Clicks pharmacy's, but my latest one made me decide on complaining about it - since I believe that the practice of using untrained and extremely unprofessional staff could lead to patient health being severely affected.
I was prescribed a steroid cortisone-Cortisone may not be abruptly stopped and the dosage need to be tapered of gradually before stopping all together. I had to send the staff member 3 times back to the (qualified) pharmacist on duty to correct my dosage. I even had him bring me a calculator and wrote everything in detail down - amount of mg per tablet, how many tablets as per the script -for how many days - then the next amount of tablets needed when the dosage gets reduced etc.
How can Clicks be allowed to practice dispensing of medicine when there is even a remote possibility that medicine could be dispensed wrong due to Clicks making use of un qualified staff?
I really do not need someone to phone or mail me with an apology.
What I need is for Clicks to pull up their socks - loose the "we don't really care because we are in Africa type mentality". Appoint qualified people!! Peoples health and lives could depend on it
