In 2007, I paid off and closed the account I had with JET stores. Around 2009/2010 I started getting calls and SMSs from JET claiming that I owe them. I went to the Pinecrest JET store where I closed the account, hoping they would rectify the mistake. To my surprise, they told me that I, indeed, owe the store. However, the details they have of me are wrong, except for the ID number, the surname and phone number. The first name, home address, workplace, etc are all not mine. Unfortunately I did not have proof that I paid off my account. They asked me to make an affidavit on this matter. I did that but it did not work. I made my own investigation of this by going to a different JET store in Pavillion, Durban. I found that the account they claim I have with them was opened on the same day I closed the one I knew of. They stopped harassing me for a while. But, from few months ago, every week I receive SMSs again about this account.
