Cutting down on staff hours meant Muslim staff fasting for the month of Ramadan @ the Vangate Mall branch on Friday, (2 August 2013) evening had to break their fast at their workstations!!! Disgusting!!! To a degree I would say messing with their human right to take a break and break their fast. Upon my "investigation" witnessing this in store I found that Pick n Pay are cutting down on their personnel's working hours thus they having packed stores which is good for their business, but results in long queues and chaos in stores. This especially at month end and on the eve of Eid when Muslims normally flock to stores... A staff member breaking fast at a till point whilst scanning my groceries was not a pretty site.
