I had a craving for biltong on Saturday afternoon and went to Checkers Hyper at Festival Mall specifically to buy some. It cost about R40. I was driving to Midrand and shared it with the friend I was driving with. The biltong tasted bad. Because I had been craving biltong so much I had more (my friend couldn't have anymore) but midway through the pack, due to the taste, he decided to check the expiry date and it had expired on 1 July 2013. There is almost nothing like the ill feeling and nausea you get when you realize that you have eaten food that is off. I had stomach cramps as well later that day and couldn't eat at the braai that we went to. Very disappointed in brand that I am very loyal to.
