Expired goods on shelfs

It was an absolute shocker to see how many complaints are lodged against Checkers Hyper for selling expired goods!
A few mnths ago my 7 yr old son was extremely unhappy that I packed an expired chocolate in his lunch bag. A chocolate I purchased a day before from Checkers Hyper @ Carnival Mall where I do my monthly groceries.
I decided to give Checkers Hyper the benefit of the doubt & not lodge a complaint as it could possibly have been the only expired one on the shelf.
I decided to abandon the idea that Checkers may be selling old stock.
Then to my utter dismay, I purchased their Cape Point Mussels. Out of the 2 boxes, only 7 mussels were in a good condition, all the others were already open and damaged.
I also purchased the Rainbow Cheese Chicken Viennas 1kg & a 500g on the 27th March'13 & both expired on the 4th March'13 already! & charged @ full price!
I also purchased a packet of miniature chocolates & after almost half the packet was handed out at a kiddies party, did I notice it had ALREADY expired & when? On the 02 Aug'12! 7 months after expiry date!
Why isn't this matter being taken seriously? Or are you waiting for someone to 1st die???
