Bad Service received form Edgars Paarl Mall

I visited Edgars in Paarl Mall today at about 12 o'clock, After waiting approximately 10 minutes for some one to help me in the make-up/cosmetics section i proceeded to the till point. I wanted to pay for the products via a gift card that i received. i was informed that there is no money on the gift card and i told the staff that it is impossible because i received it as a gift and did not use it before. Fortunately i had the receipt of the gift card with me and i showed it to the staff member. Then i was informed that the systems is offline and i was referred to customer services at the back. After explaining the whole situation the staff member proceeded to phone the gift card department to check if the card has money on and she was informed that the card has money on and has not yet been used. I was told that there is no way that i could use the card and they did not attempt to resolve the problem at all. I find this very hard to believe with the technology of today that there is no way that i could use the gift card. The products that i wanted to buy is very rear and hard to find. I am very disgusted in Edgars Paarl Mall and will never set foot in there again.
