I am a very frequent customer and shop weekly at MAKRO. My card is evident of this. Today I went to Makro to ourchase various Items. I purchased a SOLAR WORX lights which was marked on the shelf at R 199. When I got to the cashier, they charged me R 399. I explained to the cashier. She called someone to and check. It took him 15 min to return with a barcode showing the Item was R 399. However I told them, it was marked n the shelf for R 199. When they checked, they agreed and casually said, they will remove the old price. I explained my consumer rights to them that the price marked was an offer to the customer which I had accepted and therefore insisted on purchasing at that price. Tarin then called the Manager but he whispered something to her. She then said she will call the Lighting dept to sort out. I waited there for another 15 min. and she disappered. When she returned I told her how dissapointed I was having to wait so long and therefore just could not w ait any longer and left the Item. If MAKRO cannot honour their pricing, then this is pathetic. I am taking the matter to the Press, Wendy Knowler and Consumer council.
