Pick 'n Pay
The case of the coconut macaroons

I had purchased coconut macaroons at PnP Crescent on 21 May 2013- it was stale. i took it back on 23 May 2013 in its original packaging without my till slip. My family and I are regular shoppers and are known on a first name basis. I found the Store Manager to be arrogant and rude. She referred me to the packaging which had 21 JUNE 2013 as the expiry date. When she was pressed to confirm that the shelf life of coconut, macaroons at her store was more than a month, she said she would find out and let me know. To date, she has NOT contacted me. I was subsequently contacted by Ms Cindy Naidoo on 3 June 2013 assuring me that the matter was being investigated and that she would contact the following day. That did not materialise either. on 7 june 2013 I received an email wherein she assured me the matter was being dealt with. On 10 June 2013, the Area Manager called advising that the matter has been to referred to their National Office. Despite agreeing to reduce our telecom to writing he too did not keep his word. I am not surprised that this lack of customer service extends to all levels of staff. I declined a meeting to discuss this issue and simply want correct information.
