I bough a Trimtech 900w weed eater from Makro Strubens Valley on the around 22 September 2012. I used it twice and the thing broke. Took it back to Marko on the 09 October and they gave me a brand new one.
The weed eater has now broken again. I took it back to Marko on the 22nd May. Today I get a SMS saying that the manufacturer has quoted me on a repair. I called Makro and confirmed there is a year guarantee on this product. The manufacturer has given the reason that the weed eater was incorrectly used, the Nylon thread was not put in correctly causing the motor head to burn out and I must now pay to have it fixed. Come on what a load of rubbish, how hard is it to thread new nylon and even if it was threaded incorrectly how rubbish must the motor be. The weed eater only cost R499 now I must pay almost the cost of a new one for a product that has broken twice before the guarantee has even expired. The Marko representative said I must call TrimTech themselves to take this up. I find this unacceptable, I brought the product from Makro not Trimtech. Not the first time I have had a defective product from Marko and had difficulty with returns, cant trust anyone these days.
