On Saturday the 8 June I took back my 5 month old MX8 pool cleaner to Makro. The belts on it was stripped. At first they said it was wear and tear and eventually after speaking to the manager I was told that the technician will look at the unit on Monday and if it needed repair it will be refunded. On Monday I got a call telling me the unit was repaired and that I could fetch it. I went in store and asked that I be refunded as the unit was defective and needed to be repaired within 6 months. They refused. After much discussion and frustration I walked out as I got fed up dealing with who simply wanted to hide behind protocol.
What is even more frustrating is that the sales person all profess to be experts on the products and when they called in to evaluate the product when it is defective they suddenly not experts according to them.
I would urge any off you to rather shop elsewhere. Unless you prefer to throw away your money on worthless guarantees and empty promises.
For many years now I have spent thousands of Rands each month at this store but no more and I will be telling every staff member of mine, business associate and person I know to do the same.
