Bad attitude from credit manage

I went to return a pair of jeans yesterday, 28th May. I explained to the assistant that I did not have the receipt on me. The tag was still attached to the item and was not used. The assistant then called her credit manager and the lady explained to me that new rules did not allow them to issue vouchers to customers if they did have the receipt. The manager said I could take items to that value in the store but I explained to her that I would prefer a voucher as my 2 month baby was at home and I did not have the time to shop around as I just came in to the mall to return the jeans. I did not want to keep the jeans with me for too long as I know most stores allow returns within a certain time frame, and I was not sure when I would return to the mall as I have a new baby, hence me wanting a voucher as they valid for longer. The manager then rudely told me well now you are making your problem my problem. I was utterly disgusted with her comment, I completely understand and respect company policies and would accept not getting a voucher but the manner in which she spoke was shocking. I work in the customer service environment and know that this is not the way to talk to customers
