Don't buy electric appliances at Makro!

I think people who intend buying any electrical appliance at Makro deserve to be warned. They have a policy which states that if you buy something and it is faulty, it will only be replaced with a new one after it has been sent for repairs FOUR TIMES.

I bought my mother an ice maker for her birthday in August 2012... my parents have taken it back twice already to be repaired. Now it is leaking water AGAIN, and they have to take it back for the third time. My parents told me another customer was also fuming as his TV had to be repaired and Makro just had this 'Sorry, that's policy' attitude.

Don't be fooled by Makro's 'promotions' or 'specials' - rather go to an honourable retailer who is willing to replace faulty products, even if you have to pay a few bucks more. Game is also part of the Massmart group so I suppose the same policies apply to them.

In the end you will spend more on fuel to drive back and forth to have your appliance repaired.
It's just not worth it... it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth if you buy someone a gift an they have to keep going back time and again to have it repared.

Hirsch's, for one, don't let the customer go through this much trouble.
