Pick 'n Pay
Badly managed store

I went to Pick 'n Pay Liquors in Claremont and was greeted by a massive queue of customers waiting to pay. There was only 1 cashier operating during the Saturday lunch time rush, and the store was full of customers waiting to be helped. I asked the cashier if they were planning to open another till and she said "I don't know". I asked her if she had anyone helping her in the shop - she smiled wryly and said no. She was clearly overworked and the huge queue of customers were all unhappy and frustrated. Another Pick n Pay employee came in and was shocked to see the state of affairs. I asked her to see the manager and she said she would call him. I waited for about 30 minutes to no avail. I phoned the store and asked to speak to the manager and was put on hold until eventually someone's child picked up the phone and put it down. How unprofessionally can a store be run? I eventually went to the Pick n Pay main store next door and asked to see the manager. I waited for another 15 minutes while the manager was being paged. He never turned up. This is the single most badly run store I have ever visited and I left without buying the groceries I had come for. I will avoid shopping here.
