SERVICE AT CASHIER TILL

I purchased a mini I Pad for ZAR 3599.95 and paid cash. When I waited for my change of 5 cents the cashier said that they did not give the change as the banks no longer had 5 cent coins. I asked what the store was going to do to refund the money due to me and there was an incredulous look as if I was mad and cited their shops policy / practise!

I explained that legally they had to pay my 5 cents but the attitude of the staff and manager was such that I told them to take their product back and refund my money in full, which they did.

It is totally unacceptable that cashier staff and management do not understand that no matter how small the customers change is that they are legally obliged to hand this over. The management of the store/Group should not put junior staff in this position where pricing is such that they cannot give change when cash is used.

As a customer my last resort is to walk with my feet which in this case I did so Incredible Connection has lost this revenue and the sales staff the commission. I walked a few hundred meters further in the Mall and purchased my I Pad there the issue of rounding never came up and the cashier handled all professionally.
