31 October 2013 - Email sent to supplier with detailed design drawing, exact specs of materials & finish for a driveway gate to be manufactured, supplied & fitted; Next few days after no response - Several phone calls & messages left with no reply to all phones; 6 November 2013 - Return email received quoting firm price with my specs, hot-dip galvanised finish, supplied & fitted; 3 December 2013 - Met Rep. Shaun on site who persuaded me to reduce my specs, then quoted higher price which I reluctantly accepted & Contract was signed between both of us; 4 December 2013 - Paid 50% cash deposit requested; 5 December 2013 - Visited supplier's premises & met owner Donovan who initially could not locate paperwork but once found, discussed job with me & promised job to be put in hand with installation promised within approximately 2 weeks; 6 December 2013 - Received call from Shaun advising me that installation is excluded but if I want them to install, I need to pay an extra R1 800.00. When I objected, I received an email offering to cancel Contract & refund me R1 000.00 less than the deposit paid by cheque. I insisted on a refund of the full deposit in cash which eventually transpired :(
