My husband had taken out a contract with ADT and when he passed away I contacted them to change the amount to be deducted to my account. I was informed that due to the fact that he had died I would get a year free. That was great news for me as a widower. What a shock after the year had passed without letting me know that now I would be paying a lot more than what we were paying before. I tried as before to contact them as this service is not up to standard. My son who does not live far from me is only charged R250 and I was paying less and now they charge me R302. Firstly I was never informed about the price hike and have not signed a contract or been given a choice. I see there are lot of complaints which does not surprize me. I am going to go further with this perhaps to the consumer board. Perhaps I will get a reply or not I have tried to contact them with no avail. ROE180
