Refuse to follow instructions

My husband and I have a contract with ADT. I moved out of the house but my husband still stays there. I called ADT to change the bank account details to his as I was no longer living there and the account was no longer my responsibility. ADT then informed me that they would cancel the contract and I would be liable for an early cancellation charge of R733.02 As much as I've been trying to tell ADT that I am not cancelling the service and that I just want to change the banking details, the more ADT are telling me they first have to sign my husband up to a new contract before they will waiver the early cancellation charge. My husband's name is on the original contract. As far as I can see this is just a way for them to make money out of a very sad situation. If my husband doesn't sign up, I will be charged the early cancellation fee or I have to be in contact with my husband to get the montly fee from him. If he does sign the new contract or take over the existing contract (which has his name on it) he will be charged an initial contract fee. Bizarre!
