On the 9 July 2009 we had 2 trellidor gates installed at my 75-YEAR-OLD mum's home. A month ago a beggar who was drunk at the time went to ask for food at my mum's and he shook the trellidorgate to get her attention and the gate broke in some places. I contacted trellidor and let them know what happened. They sent Trevor from the Hillcrest branch to have a look. Trevor informed me that the gate cannot be replaced because it was discontinued in 2009 (the same year my mum had it installed!) I contacted head office and spoke to Rob who then told me he would speak to Trevor and get back to me. This was his response:
"In response to our conversation last week and to being able to view the photographs of the damage I must say that there is no doubt that considerable force was used to damage the door. There are a couple of areas where you can clearly see that the metal has been broken and severely bent.
We do take this kind of incident seriously and are constantly driven to improving the quality of the product, which we have done over the last few years.
In this regard we are not in a position to replace the door at no charge. "
